Polarized

A public forum composed of suspended translucent shades radiating apart from two origins. The boundaries of twin vaulted spaces are articulated by a spectrum of color fabric trims. An interstitial threshold unites these two primary spaces and runs concurrent with the structural ridge beam above. 

Roughly speaking, the form of the project is comparable to a quarter of a bagel, sliced in half, splayed face down, and then subtracted from a rectangular box. More precisely, this volume = 1/4 of a torus minus 1/3 of a cube (where the lenght (L) of the cube = 16m, the inner radius of the torus = 1/4L and the outer radius = 3/4L).

Polarized was proposed in 2017.
