Kiwi Peach Blueberry
The communal roof terrace at Adobe’s San Jose Headquarters recently underwent a full renovation that includes an integrated connection to the newly built Founder’s Tower and pedestrian bridge. Kiwi Peach Blueberry was designed to compliment the tree sculptures stretching across the pedestrian bridge and help link the new and existing portions of the campus. While the components of Blooms serve as a set of highly visible facade mounted pieces and shaded canopies, the seating provided by Kiwi Peach Blueberry invites tactile engagement and an opportunity for repose and informal meetups. The red centerpiece also serves as a gateway between the new and existing portions of the campus, while simultaneously framing San Jose and the surrounding landscape.
In order to meet weight restrictions, each piece is composed of aluminum plate that has been welded into a robust structural lattice. The rounded forms provide comfort as well as a welcoming appearance that continues the aesthetic vocabulary deployed during phase one with the completion of the Blooms canopies. Lighting was fully integrated into each piece, lending a lantern-like appearance during evening hours.
Kiwi Peach Blueberry was completed in 2024 with the support of Adobe and is located at 333 West San Fernando Street in San Jose, California.
