Our client approached us to design a home office/reading space in a rectangular room, featuring only a doorway and a large window. Our design builds off of these nondescript pre-existing conditions. We wrapped the walls with bookshelves, but carved out a reading alcove with dimensions and proportions closely matching those of the window and doorway.
